Lounsdale Electric is a leading supplier of high quality standard and custom built electrical switchgear serving a wide range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure applications.
Equipment offered ranges from 12kV switchgear, indoor and outdoor packaged substations, LV switchgear, Control Consoles and Mimic Displays and process centre equipment.
We have broadened our core manufacturing capability and now provide a comprehensive design, installation, test and commissioning service for distribution and traction substations involving both electrical equipment and associated LV and MV cabling. This engineering service is further complimented by our ability to provide structured cabling solutions for the commercial and industrial market places.
Through BK Comtronics, Lounsdale Electric offer full design, supply, installation and commissioning services for structured cabling systems to serve voice and data networks.
Distributed temperature sensing (DTS) using blown fibre is also carried out by BK Comtronics and already have installed to date over 78km of 8mm microduct and 40km of 50/125 multimode fibre for the National Grid Company at 9 of their sites.
Continuous improvement is essential and Lounsdale Electric has followed a controlled testing programme to BS EN 60439 covering:-
- Short Circuit up to 100kA
- Temperature Rise Tests
- Degree of Protection IP Tests
