John Moore was appointed managing director of Balfour Kilpatrick in July 2004. John previously started out his career as an apprentice with the company, and had been with the company for 25 years up to 2001, where he progressed to regional director for the Southern Region.

Turnover of the company in 2004 was £188m, and under John's leadership the company turnover grew to £316m (2007), Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) for the year end had also reached its lowest ever at 0.16. Behavioural safety has been a key driver for the business in this period.

A number of industry awards were secured in 2006: Building Awards Specialist Contractor of the Year, H&V News HVAC Contractor of the Year and the Building Services Awards Major M&E Contractor of the Year and Safety Initiative of the Year.

In March 2008, Garry Black succeeded John Moore, and is appointed managing director of Balfour Kilpatrick. Garry was previously regional director of Balfour Kilpatrick Projects and Scotland region business in the UK. Garry has been with Balfour Kilpatrick for nine years and prior to that was with Balfour Beatty Construction.
